MONTICELLO — Arkansas-Monticello remained unbeaten in Great American Conference play Saturday night after a 90-78 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State in men’s basketball.
Kori Forge scored a career-high 31 points for UAM (12-2, 2-0). The junior from Atlanta shot 61 percent from the floor, going 11-for-18, including 5-of-9 from three-point range and was 4-of-4 from the free throw line.
Three other Weevils finished in double figures with Ricardo Hall adding 18, Sergio Crowe with 17, and Lonnie Cottrell with 10. Steven Kohli and Zac Downing led the Storm with 18 points each.
Buzzer-beater sinks UAM
MONTICELLO — A last-second shot lifted Southeastern Oklahoma State to a 65-64 victory over UAM on Saturday in women’s basketball.
Ali Stone rebounded a three-point attempt by Chelsea Johnson as the shot clock ran down and fired a long pass to Whitney Coffey, who hit the winning basket with 0.1 second left. The time left was not enough for UAM (4-8, 0-2 GAC) to take a shot to beat the buzzer.
Channon Haywood led UAM with 12 points.
