MONTICELLO — The Great American Conference named Arkansas-Monticello junior receiver Skylar Scott its Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, the university announced.
Scott finished with eight receptions for a career-high 165 yards and three touchdowns in UAM’s 42-34 win over Southeastern Oklahoma State in Monticello on Saturday. The win broke an 11-game losing streak for the Boll Weevils (1-1, 1-1 GAC).
Scott hauled in a 14-yard touchdown pass from Brett Courville early in the second quarter and caught two scoring passes from starter Colton Morrison in the second half. Both passes were go-ahead plays, giving UAM a 29-28 lead and 35-31 advantage, respectively.
Scott also had a 61-yard reception that set up the final touchdown of the game.
Other GAC Players of the Week included: Henderson State quarterback Kevin Rogers (offense), Southern Arkansas linebacker Mark Spaight (defense) and Henderson State punt returner Al Lasker (special teams).
UAM will host Northwestern Oklahoma State at 6 p.m. Saturday.
