Victoria Bozzo set the third-highest hitting percentage in Arkansas-Monticello volleyball history, leading the Cotton Blossoms to a four-set victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff at H.O. Clemmons Arena on Thursday.
Bozzo hit .536 in the 25-20, 25-22, 24-26 and 25-17 win, UAM’s fourth in the last six matches. She totaled 17 kills, two errors, eight digs and two blocks.
As a team, the Blossoms (5-10) recorded 50 kills on 141 attempts with just 14 errors for a season-best .255 percentage. The Lady Lions struggled to a .106 clip with 48 kills on 161 attempts with 31 errors.
For UAM, Amy Kleypas had 11 kills on 39 swings and three errors, Allison Beardsley led the team with 20 digs and Jaclyn Trinque dished 13 assists.
Audrey Sherles led UAPB (3-8) with 13 kills, and Ashlie Jones contributed 11 kills and two blocks. Eleni-James Becton made 22 assists and Brea Clayton had 17 digs for the Lady Lions.
UAM will play at Northwestern Oklahoma State on Friday and Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday. UAPB returns to action Monday at home against Grambling State.
