LL Softball opens season


Pine Bluff Little League Softball opened its regular season last Saturday.

There were two games that day. Simmons beat Hood Towing 11-6 in the opener, led by Shakyra Davis, Mallory Smith, Taylor Allen and Maya Rouse at the plate. Hood got hits from Callie Bradley, Jacy King, Ashunti Cooper and Alexis Banks. Allen was the winning pitcher.

Mazzios beat V. Wright Solutions 15-6 in the second game. Sierra Johnson, DeAysia Bishop and Lydya DeShazier had hits for Mazzios. V. Wright’s hitters were Talandra Wilson, Katie Howie, Madalyn Blevins, Mauricia Bennett and B.M. White. DeShazier struck out six batters.

Miss UAPB Jamie Robbins sang the National Anthem and Jefferson County Sheriff Gerald Robinson delivered the first pitch. Jarron Gray was crowned King of Pine Bluff Little League Softball.
