Regional archery tournament today in Monticello

The Arkansas National Archery in the Schools Southeast Regional Tournament will be hosted by the Monticello School District Archery Team from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. today at the Monticello Sports Complex/Turf Building.

There will be approximately 300 students representing various schools from elementary, middle and high school divisions from our region. This is a qualifier for the National Arkansas Archery in the Schools Program State Competition.

Admission for spectators is $1. The public is invited to attend and watch some of the best archers in Arkansas.

Some of the food, events and the sponsors are: donuts and drinks for breakfast by FCCLA, pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, etc. by Safe Prom at the MHS Baseball Concession Stand, candy and snacks by the soccer team, Geocaching by MMS E.A.S.T., face painting by MMS Student Council, Regional Archery T-Shirts by Archery Club, 3-D target shooting by Ashley County Bowhunters’ Association and target shooting by Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
