EM Majors reach No. 1 ranking


On July 20, the Everett Maxey Majors 12-under baseball team became the first team from Arkansas to ever win the ELITE World Series held at Disney’s Wide World of Sports. This event is invite only for qualified teams who win SuperNITs or state championships. EM Majors has a 2012-13 season record of 84-7. On Tuesday, Travel Ball Select ranked EM Majors No. 1 in the country. This honor includes travel ball teams of any organization, including USSSA. In USSSA, the team is No. 1 in points out of 602 Major Division teams in the United States. EM Majors will compete August 22-26 in Cordova, Tenn., for the National Youth Baseball Championship. Twelve-under champions from AAU, NABF, SuperSeries and USSSA will compete in the tournament.

Kam’ron Hunt and Ollie Reddick Jr., both of White Hall Middle School, were selected to the All-State Tournament Team and Devon Koonce, of Redfield Jr. High, was on the All-State Tournament Team, Offensive MVP and Tournament MVP at the Elite World Series.
