Dooley to helm Cowboys WRs

The Dallas Cowboys have hired former Tennessee Volunteers head coach Derek Dooley as their new wide receivers coach.

Dooley was fired in November after posting a disappointing 15-21 record in his three-year tenure with the Vols. His three straight losing seasons were the longest such stretch of futility for the program.

Dooley will take over in Dallas for Jimmy Robinson.

Robinson has been Dallas’ assistant head coach/wide receivers since 2011, joining the team from Green Bay after the Packers won Super Bowl XLV.

Shot to cost fan $22K in taxes

Michael Drysch, a 50-year-old from McHenry, Ill., swished a half-court shot Friday night at the Miami Heat game as part of a promotion with the lip balm brand Carmex and the LeBron James Family Foundation. He won $75,000 for himself and the Boys & Girls Club of America.

Twenty-five percent of the prize must be withheld for federal income tax, and Illinois will take out a 5 percent state tax on the prize since he is a resident of the state.

His winnings now are $52,770.
