Steelers pick up Jones from Eagles

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have acquired former Arkansas Razorback Felix Jones from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for linebacker Adrian Robinson.

Jones signed with the Eagles in May after spending his first five NFL seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and will join a Pittsburgh team in need of backfield help.

The Steelers could be without rookie running back Le’Veon Bell for an extended period of time because of a mid-foot sprain. The injury will not require surgery, but Steelers coach Mike Tomlin was unsure about a timetable for Bell’s return.

A triple threat as a runner, receiver and kick returner, Jones has amassed 2,728 rushing yards with 11 touchdowns, 1,062 receiving yards and three scores to go along with a 24.0-yard average on kickoff returns with a TD.
