The Pine Bluff Braves combined for a five-hit shutout as they defeated the Seabrook All-Stars 11-0 on Tuesday night at the Seabrook Family Christian Center.
Michael Marsh pitched five innings, allowing just five hits with 11 strikeouts in the win. It was the Braves’ final prep game before the Dixie League State Tournament in Nashville, Ark. on Friday.
Marsh improved his record to 2-1 for the Braves this season.
Josh Chambliss pitched the sixth inning and Derrick Houser closed out the game for the Braves.
For Seabrook, Zack Bradford is tagged with the loss after just two innings of work.
The Braves scored a run in the first, two in the second, one in the third, one in the fourth, five in the fifth and one in the sixth.
In the fifth, Corey McCoy led off the inning with a solo home run to left field. Christian Kidd and Colin Massenelli followed with back-to-back walks and Early White hit a double to plate Kidd. Chase Smith was hit by a pitch and V.J. Dickson hit a RBI single to plate Massenelli. Derrick Houser’s sacrifice fly scored Smith and gave the Braves a commanding 10-0 lead.
Bradford led the All-Stars with two hits on the night while Jared Turner got a hit and and pitched an impressive eighth inning.
The Braves will journey to North Little Rock and take on the England All-Stars in Rose City at the Police Athletic League’s complex at the Boys and Girls Club on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
