Arkansas-Pine Bluff basketball

Sophomore, Watson Chapel

Arkansas-Pine Bluff defeated Jackson State 70-64 on Monday. In four minutes of playing time, Rollins tallied two rebounds and two blocks. UAPB now has 10 wins on the season and will conclude the regular season today at Mississippi Valley State.

Junior, Watson Chapel

Broughton finished Monday’s game with two points, two rebounds and a block in 22 minutes of playing time. UAPB won 73-72 over Jackson State to improve to 14-3 in the conference. They wrap the regular season at Mississippi Valley State today.

JUQUECIA CHANEY

Delta State (Miss.) basketball

Freshman, Star City

Delta State defeated West Georgia 60-49 on Saturday to improve to 16-7 (11-4 Gulf South). Chaney started the game and finished with four points on 2 of 4 shooting in 17 minutes of playing time. Delta State will face the University of West Florida today at Cleveland, Miss.

SHABR’AN RICHARDSON

Alabama A&M basketball forward

Freshman, Dumas

On Monday, Alabama A&M lost to Prairie View A&M 54-39 at home. Richardson did not play. A&M will host Grambling State University today at 5:30 p.m.

RYAN DARDENNE

Southern Arkansas catcher

Sophomore, Watson Chapel

In 16 games this season, Dardenne has a batting average of .309 (17 of 55) with 15 RBIs, 13 runs, four doubles, two home runs and five walks. In a 4-3 loss to Union University on Tuesday, Dardenne was 0 for 2 with a strikeout. Southern Arkanas is 12-4 on the season.

ZACH BARR

University of Central Arkansas baseball

Sophomore, White Hall

Barr has made two appearances this season for the Bears. He has pitched two innings, struck out four and has not allowed a hit. UCA is 8-1 on the season, including an 8-0 record at home.

CHANCE CLEVELAND

University of Arkansas-Little Rock baseball

Senior, Watson Chapel

In two starts this season, Cleveland is 1-1 with an ERA of 1.17 in 15 1/3 innings of work. He has allowed three runs (two earned) on nine hits with 16 strikeouts and one walk. Opponents have a batting average of .167 against him. UALR is 5-2 on the season.

CLAUDE JOHNSON

Arkansas State University baseball

Junior, Pine Bluff High School

Johnson was 2 for 4 in ASU’s 7-3 loss to Vanderbilt on Tuesday. In seven games this season, Johnson has a batting average of .269 (7 of 26) with three runs, four doubles and a home run. The Red Wolves are 6-2 on the season.

Sophomore, Watson Chapel

Massanelli was 1 for 5 with a run scored and a RBI in Tuesday’s loss to Vanderbilt. In six games this season, Massanelli has a batting average of .286 (8 of 28) with three runs scored, four RBIs and a double.

JEFFREY WORKS

University of Ozarks baseball

Junior, Fordyce High School

In Sunday’s 4-3 loss to Simpson College, Works earned a no-decision as he pitched eight innings and allowed three runs (one earned) with one walk and eight strikeouts.

In three starts this season, Works is 0-0 with an ERA of 0.90 in 20 innings of work. He has allowed 16 hits, five runs (two earned) with 12 strikeouts and four walks. Opponents have a .208 batting average.
