Zebras push Hurricane but fall

GREENWOOD — Despite a game effort by the Pine Bluff Zebras, the Jonesboro Hurricane (25-4) was just too strong in reaching the 6A state boys semifinals for the second straight season with a 61-51 victory Friday night. Jonesboro will play Benton at 7:30 tonight.

Pine Bluff (14-11) was still within 54-50 with just under a minute left, but missed a basket and back-to-back three-point plays put the game away.

Kahron Ross scored a game-high 21 to lead Jonesboro while Aaron Washington had 12 and Randle Toliver added 10. Rickey Clements scored 17 to pace Pine Bluff while John Tate added 12.
