White Hall stops two-point attempt to beat Watson Chapel


White Hall was able to stop a two-point conversion late in the game to hold on for a 15-14 win over Watson Chapel at Wildcat Stadium.

White Hall took an 7-0 lead in the second quarter on Bailey Smith’s 3-yard run. Clayton Dickerson kick the extra point.

Watson Chapel took its only lead of the game in the first half with a 40-yard touchdown run by Terrence Bradley. Trayvion Woods scored the two-point conversion for the 8-7 advantage.

White Hall did score the game-winning touchdown before halftime for a 15-8 lead. Cale Canada hauled in a 35-yard touchdown from Caleb Carr. The snap on the extra point attempt was low and Keaton Sanchez ran it in for the two-point conversion for White Hall (3-4, 3-2 River City Conference).

Late in the fourth quarter, Woods found the end zone, but was unable to punch in the two-point conversion for the win for Watson Chapel (5-2, 4-2 River City Conference).

Sanchez made the initial tackle and was then helped by Dillon Cantwell and Colton Curtis along with a couple other teammates to stop the potential game-winning play.

Jack Robey 16, Texarkana 7

TEXARKANA — Ladarius Skelton accounted for both of the Colts’ touchdowns Thursday night, leading Jack Robey (7-0) back from a 7-0 deficit.

Skelton threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Braylen Jones late in the second quarter, and Romar Reades ran on the conversion play to give the Colts an 8-7 lead. They extended it to 16-7 with 5:24 left in the game on a 3-yard Skelton run and Reades conversion.

The Razorbacks threatened to close the gap late when Jones picked off a pass to seal the win.

Reades carried the ball 12 times for 70 yards and Skelton had nine totes for 58 yards to lead the Colts. David Beasley had an interception right before the end of the first half.

In eighth-grade play, Jack Robey beat Texarkana 16-0 to improve to 4-1. Isaiah Washington completed a 5-yard pass to Eddie Bell late in the third quarter and ran in from a yard out with 29 seconds left in the game for both touchdowns.

Dalvin Smith and Ja’Amonta Brock ran for the two conversions. Smith had 16 carries for 113 yards, Xavier Smith caught three passes for 50 yards, and Jaylon DeShazier intercepted a pass for the Colts.

Dollarway 16, Stuttgart 10

Kendrick Hunter led Dollarway back from a 10-0 halftime deficit to beat Stuttgart 16-10 at Cardinals Stadium.

Hunter returned the opening kickoff of the second half 86-yards for the touchdown to make it 8-10.

Dollarway (4-2, 4-1 2-4A Conference) then took the lead to end the third quarter when Hunter hauled in a 57-yard touchdown pass from Kacy Higgins for the 16-10 lead.

Hunter finished the game with 143 all-purpose yards.

Ridgway Christian 68, Victory Christian 6

CAMDEN — The Ridgway Christian junior high team beat Victory Christian 68-6. By halftime, the score was 40-0 Ridgway.

The Ridgway senior high team was scheduled to play Victory Christian, but Ridgway won the game due to a forfeit since Victory did not have enough players.

Ridgway (2-1) is scheduled to play a two-quarter varsity scrimmage at 6 p.m. next Friday against Victory Christian in El Dorado. Following the scrimmage on the same night, Ridgway will have a two-quarter scrimmage against El Dorado Westside.
