CROSSETT — Kilay Cox and Darveon Brown each scored two touchdowns, and Warren (1-3, 1-0 in 8-4A) stopped Crossett (1-3, 0-1) on its last possession to come away with a 34-26 victory Friday night in the conference opener for both teams.
Brown ran from 5 yards out for his second touchdown of the game with about 3 minutes remaining. Warren’s defense then stopped Crossett’s quarterback 1 yard short on fourth-and-3, sealing the Eagles’ fate.
Cox ran 31 times for 209 yards. He scored on a 4-yard run in the first quarter and a 1-yarder in the second.
Warren took a 20-7 lead at halftime after Justin Gorman completed a 22-yard touchdown pass to Brown, who added the two-point conversion run. Gorman had 216 yards on 14-of-22 passing with two TDs and one interception.
Gorman’s second TD strike was a 25-yard pass to Chris Oliver in the third, and Cox ran for the extra two points.
