WYNNE — The Wynne Yellowjackets came into their first-round playoff game undefeated and played that way.
Wynne (10-0) held Watson Chapel (6-5) to just 83 yards of total offense in a 35-7 win as the Wildcats’ season ended.
Watson Chapel was able to tie the game at 7 in the first quarter on Devonte Battles’ 5-yard touchdown run.
But the Yellowjackets stopped the Wildcats from that point on and went into halftime with a 21-7 lead.
Most of Watson Chapel’s yards came in the air as the Wildcats passed for 61 yards and had just 22 yards rushing.
Watson Chapel had three turnovers in the game and all three were interceptions, which were thrown by Kris McCullough.
McCullough started the game under center because SanAntonio Cole was dealing with a hurt shoulder. Cole was able to play on defense, though, but was not healthy enough to play quarterback.
