Stuttgart plates 10 in win over Heber Springs


STUTTGART — The Stuttgart Ricebirds scored six runs in the second inning as they defeated the Heber Springs Panthers 10-2 Monday night.

For Stuttgart, Hunter Harris was 2 for 2 with two runs scored and a RBI, while Jon Curtis was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. Dontrell Brown was 1 for 3 with a run, a walk and a RBI, and Jacob Clawson was 2 for 3 with a run and a RBI.

Taylor Daniels was 1 for 4 with a run and a RBI. Regan Counce was 1 for 3 with two runs, a walk and a RBI.

Curtis pitched six innings, allowing just one run (earned) on two hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. Geere Elam pitched one inning and allowed one run (earned) on one hit with a walk.

Stuttgart also scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Stuttgart did commit four errors in the game.

Heber Springs scored a run in the first and ninth innings.

Dumas 14,

Dollarway 4 (5 inn.)

DUMAS — Dumas scored nine runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to defeat Dollarway 14-4 in five innings Monday night. For Dollarway, Adrian Alford pitched four innings and allowed four hits.

Dollarway scored three runs in the top of the second to take 4-2 lead, but Dumas scored three in the bottom of the second to take the lead back.

Further statistics for the game were unavailable. Dollarway (1-7) will play Lonoke next Monday.

Warren 18, Camden Harmony Grove 8 (5 inn.)

WARREN — The Lumberjacks scored 11 runs in the second inning of run-ruled victory over the Hornets.

The big inning gave Warren (4-8) a 14-6 lead. Harmony Grove trailed 3-2 after one inning but scored four runs in the top of the second.

For Warren, Aaron Church went 4 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs, Sam Rauls was 3 for 3 with three RBIs and Austin Emanuel hit 2 for 4 with two RBIs. Church also pitched the victory, striking out four and allowing five earned runs on four hits.

Warren will host Monticello in an 8-4A Conference game at 4:30 p.m. today.

SOFTBALL

Woodlawn 12,

Hampton 2 (6 inn.)

HAMPTON — The Woodlawn Lady Bears scored five runs in the top of the sixth and held in the bottom half of the inning as they enforced the 10-run mercy rule by defeating the Hampton Lady Bulldogs 12-2 Monday night.

Lilly Henderson was credited with the victory after pitching a complete game and allowing just two runs on three hits with eight strikeouts and no walks.

Maddie Stewart was 3 for 4 with two runs and Megan Howard was 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs.

Laney Nelson was 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs.

Woodlawn (6-3, 4-1 in 8-2A) also scored three runs in the first and four in the second. Hampton scored both of its runs in the second.

Woodlawn will play today at Hermitage at 4:30 p.m.

Pine Bluff 21,

LR Mills 2 (3 inn.)

The Pine Bluff Fillies scored 13 runs in the bottom of the second inning as they defeated the Little Rock Mills Comets 21-2 in three innings Monday night at home.

Pine Bluff’s Cessiley Johnson pitched three innings and allowed two runs on four hits. Pine Bluff also scored eight runs in the first.

The game was originally scheduled as a doubleheader but due to the cold weather, Mills forfeited the second game.

Pine Bluff (6-1) will host Lake Hamilton today at 4 p.m. and will play a doubleheader against Little Rock Fair on Thursday.

The following baseball games were cancelled due to poor field conditions: Watson Chapel vs. Crossett, Fordyce at Rison and Hermitage at Drew Central. The softball game between White Hall and DeWitt was also cancelled.
