White Hall finishes fifth at boys state golf

HARRISON — The White Hall boys golf team finished in fifth place at the 5A state tournament and Watson Chapel finished in 10th.

Harrison won the event by shooting a 322. White Hall shot a 352 and Watson Chapel had a 391.

Jack McNulty and Jeffrey Manning each shot an 86 for White Hall and finished in a tie for 13th place.

Trey Prince and Drake Wrinkle each shot a 90 and Duncan Bellingrath had a 94.

For Watson Chapel, Tanner Jones shot a 90 and Regin Reginio followed with a 91. Landen Colson had a 104, Trent Bogy shot a 107 and Dalton Barker finished with a 109.

PB qualifies six for state

ARKADELPHIA — Three doubles teams from Pine Bluff qualified for the 6A state tennis tournament with victories in the 6A-South Conference tournament Tuesday.

J’marlo Johnson and Michael Roberts defeated the first and second seeds from Siloam Springs to finish fifth in boys doubles.

Sisters Ajia and Kye Richardson defeated a Texarkana duo 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 and then beat teammates Cessily Johnson and Victoria Grady 6-1, 6-4 for fifth place. Johnson and Grady, who also qualified for state, beat a Siloam Springs team.

Cornerstone Christian beats Ridgway Christian

TILLAR — The Cornerstone Christian volleyball team beat Ridgway Christan 24-26, 25-13, 25-17, 25-7 on Tuesday.

The Ridgway junior high team beat Cornerstone 25-10 and 25-23.
