Redbugs rout Pirates 20-0


FORDYCE — Braden Chambers went 3 for 4 with five RBIs, dominated on the mound and led Fordyce to a 20-0 baseball victory over Drew Central on Tuesday.

The win brought the Redbugs to 13-1 overall and 2-0 in the 8-3A Conference.

Chambers went five innings, allowed two hits and struck out seven. Cole Johnson and Ross Rodgers each went 3 for 4 with three RBIs apiece.

Fordyce travels to Little Rock Christian on Thursday.

Woodlawn 10, Rison 1

WOODLAWN — The Bears started off 7-2A East Conference play with a blowout of the Wildcats.

Jacob Richardson held Rison to one hit one walk and three strikeouts in three innings pitched. He also pushed a run across the plate on a double.

Also for Woodlawn, J.P. Aikens hit a two-run double and Caleb Holleman pushed across two runs.

Garrett Dedman went 2 for 3 to lead Rison.

Woodlawn plays at Parkers Chapel on Thursday.

Star City 14, Malvern 8

MALVERN — The Bulldogs improved their record to 9-5 as they beat the Leopards on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs had 16 hits on the night as Cain Patton took the win. Austin Pile was 4 for 5, Tye Brown 3 for 5, Zack House 2 for 2, Austin Capps 2 for 3 and Jackson Haynes 2 for 5 with a three-run home run.

Star City will play at Dumas on Thursday.

Postponed: Magnolia at Watson Chapel, White Hall at Hot Springs, Little Rock Fair at Sheridan.

SOFTBALL

Sheridan 16-16, Little Rock Fair 0-0

SHERIDAN — The Lady Jackets (13-1, 6-0 in 7A/6A-South) took both games of a doubleheader Tuesday.

Olivia Reed earned the win in the first game. She allowed no hits and struck out eight in three innings. Hunter Clark and Taylor Norman each hit home runs.

Emily Hicks earned the win in the second game. She also gave up no hits and had four strikeouts.

Reed had two hits and scored three runs in that game.

Sheridan will host Pine Bluff on Friday.

Cancelled: Stuttgart at Harding Academy.

BOYS SOCCER

El Dorado 3, Pine Bluff 0

At Jordan Stadium, the Zebras (2-5 in 7A/6A-South) held the Wildcats scoreless for 60 minutes, then the Wildcats scored on a penalty kick and and two more goals shortly after for the win.

Pine Bluff will play at Sheridan on Friday.
