FORDYCE — The Fordyce Redbugs remain undefeated in the 8-3A Conference with a 10-0 victory over the McGehee Owls on Friday.
Ross Rodgers and Cole Johnson were both 2 for 4 with one RBI for Fordyce (16-2, 5-0 in 8-3A). Tommy Tidwell was 1 for 2 with one RBI, and Dane Kemp added one RBI as well.
Brayden Chambers earned the win. He went five innings, allowed one hit, and struck out nine. Cole Johnson closed in the sixth, striking out the side.
The Redbugs will travel to McGehee on Monday.
Lake Hamilton 3, Pine Bluff 2
PEARCY — Chris Eastburn and Sean Faught had a hit a piece, Eastburn with one RBI, and Lake Hamilton edged Pine Bluff (7-10, 3-2 in 7A/6A-South) on Friday.
Eastburn also went four innings on the mound, with six strikeouts. Drew Dodson came on to finish the last two innings, striking out five.
Adam Graham added a spark for the Zebras with an RBI, pulling them within 3-2.
Benton 12, Sheridan 8
BENTON — The Panthers scored five runs in bottom of the third from three Yellowjacket errors.
Wyatt Daggett hit a grand slam in the top of sixth to bring the Jackets (8-10, 3-6) to the final score of 12-8.
Daggett also received the loss. He went six innings, three strikeouts, and three walks.
The YellowJackets’ next game will be Monday at Arkadelphia.
Sheridan 5, Benton 2
BENTON — The Sheridan Lady Jackets (20-2, 11-0 in 7A/6A-South) continue to dominate their conference opponents with a 5-2 victory against Benton on Friday.
Sidney Bonner (11-1) earned the win. She gave up only four hits, and had two strikeouts.
Allison Stipes drove in the game’s first run in the top of the third. Morgan White led the Lady Jackets going 2 for 4 with one RBI. Lauren Mitchell was also 2 for 2. Olivia Reed scored two runs.
The Lady Jackets will continue conference play Thursday at home against Bryant.
Watson Chapel 6,
Lexie Downing pitched a complete game and the Watson Chapel Lady Wildcats improved to 7-1 in the 5A-South conference as they won 6-4 over Magnolia at home on Friday.
Downing allowed seven hits with eight strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Chapel scored two runs in the first, one in the third, two in the fifth and one in the sixth. Magnolia scored three in the sixth and one in the seventh.
For Chapel, Natalie Johnson was 1 for 2 with a home run. Lauren McFall was 2 for 4 and Megan Moore was 2 for 3.
Chapel will play at White Hall on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
