FORDYCE — Coach Stan Jones reminded Fordyce senior Rashad Allen before Tuesday’s boys basketball game against Smackover this would be his final game at Redbug Arena.
“He took that to heart,” Jones said.
Allen scored 52 points in leading Fordyce to an 80-58 win, setting a school record. Allen, a two-time all-state performer, scored 30 points more than his season average.
“I told him to let the game come to him,” Jones said. “He didn’t force too many shots.”
Allen also shattered his season high of 41 at Hamburg in a loss last month.
Gary Cross added 14 on Tuesday for Fordyce (10-10, 3-4 in 8-3A Conference), which plays at Drew Central on Friday to close the regular season.
Smackover fell to 2-5 in the conference.
Pine Bluff 64, Lake Hamilton 44
PEARCY — Tyrone Payne had 15 rebounds to go with 16 points in helping the Zebras (11-8, 7-3 in 7A/6A-South) blow out the Wolves (7-14, 1-8).
Rickey Clements led Pine Bluff with 20 points. Darrian Kee added 15.
HS Lakeside 62, White Hall 43
WHITE HALL — The Bulldogs (6-14, 3-7 in 5A-South) saw their three-game winning streak end Tuesday night at the hands of the conference-leading Hot Springs Lakeside Rams (19-4, 10-0).
D.J. Freeman led White Hall with 13 points.
Drew Central 81, Cam. Harmony Grove 61
MONTICELLO — Dilly Binns scored a game-high 35 points, and the Pirates (18-9, 5-2 in 8-3A) scored 59 in the second half after trailing 34-22 to knock off the Camden Harmony Grove Hornets (1-7 in 8-3A).
Demarius Thomas added 16 points and Edmond Hunter scored 14 — all in the second half — for the Pirates.
Monticello 53, Warren 32
MONTICELLO — Torry Butler had 24 points to pace the Billies (21-2, 11-0 in 8-4A) past the Lumberjacks (9-8, 4-7).
