HOT SPRINGS – The White Hall Bulldogs scored 29 unanswered points in a span of just 5:07 of the first and second quarters here Friday and rolled past the Hot Springs Lakeside Rams 50-21 an a 5A-South Conference bout.
After coach Mike Vaughn’s Bulldogs took an early 7-0 lead on a 13-yard Irvin Tisdale run and Tyler Carr’s first of four conversion kicks, Lakeside (3-3, 1-2 in 5A-South) knotted the score late in the opening quarter with a 4-yard run by Garrett Carson and Grant Garson’s first of three point-after boots. But from that point on, the night belonged to White Hall (4-1, 2-1).
The Bulldogs assumed command for good with 2:44 left in the quarter when Kendrick Edgerson struck paydirt on a 63-yard gallop and Terrance Warren added a two-point run. Warren then tacked on a 9-yard run just over a minute later and Carr kicked White Hall to a 22-7 lead.
Warren scored again on an 8-yard slash with 9:45 left before halftime. Kirk Baugh’s 16-yard touchdown run just 1:08 later gave White Hall a 36-7 command.
After Lakeside pulled to within 36-14 early in the third quarter, the Bulldogs largely sealed the win with two touchdowns in just 20 seconds. Tisdale scored on a 27-yard run with 6:01 left in the quarter, and then returned an interception 10 yards with 5:42 remaining.
