The Watson Chapel Lady Wildcats cruised to a 61-51 win over Searcy Tuesday night.
Senior Kamera Bozeman led Watson Chapel with 22 points and Leonicia Hart had 10. Searcy had three players finish in double digits.
Heading into the fourth quarter, Watson Chapel led 48-31, but their lead increased to 20 points when senior and starter Chapel Jones hit a three-pointer. Searcy answered to trim the lead to 53-38.
Despite numerous attempts, Watson Chapel did not make its first three until Jones made one with about 4:51 left in the third quarter. The bucket gave Watson Chapel a 36-23 lead.
Midway in the fourth, Bozeman gave the Lady Wildcats a 57-41 lead thanks to a pair of inside field goals.
Searcy was able to cut the lead down to eight after a three and a couple of field goals, but Watson Chapel junior Kierra Cox hit a pair of free throws to increase the lead to 10.
Watson Chapel relied mostly on the inside presence of Bozeman, who got the Lady Wildcats on the board to begin the game thanks to a putback of her own miss.
Posting up against a smaller opponent, she followed up her first score with an inside shot off the glass, which gave the Lady Wildcats a 4-3 lead.
Watson Chapel led 11-10 after the first quarter. The Lady Wildcats got things started in the second quarter thanks to a steal and layup by Hart. But Searcy scored twice to take a 15-14 lead.
A bucket by Hart and two by Bozeman gave Watson Chapel a 22-19 lead with about 3 minutes left in the first half. By halftime, the Lady Wildcats led 29-19.
