The 4A boys final between Dollarway and Pottsville will cap the first night of the Arkansas Activities Association state basketball championship games at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock.
The game has been set for 8:45 p.m. Thursday. Student tickets will be on sale from 11:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday at the Dollarway High School cafeteria for $7 each, and adult tickets will be sold at the Dollarway School District administration building Tuesday-Thursday for $8 each. All tickets at the gate the day of the game are $8.
Dollarway (29-2) earned a top seed and a first-round bye in the 4A state tournament by winning the South Region championship. The Cardinals defeated Booneville 48-27 in the quarterfinals and Brookland 39-34 in the semifinals to make it to the title game.
The Cardinals are going for their second state championship in school history. They won the 2006 3A title, lost the 1996 AA final and lost the 1988 AAA final.
Pottsville beat Monticello 56-54 in triple overtime in a quarterfinal and won its semifinal over Pocahontas 61-42.
