Cole’s big game leads Wildcats in rout

Trayvarious Cole only had 10 carries in Watson Chapel’s 40-8 junior high football win over Sheridan on Thursday at Wildcat Stadium, but he averaged more than 20 yards per carry.

Cole finished with 10 carries for 204 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. He added four catches for 109 yards and a touchdown.

Cole was not the only one who found the end zone as Trayvion Woods broke a 91-yard touchdown run for the second score of the game for Watson Chapel (6-2, 5-2 River City Conference).

Watson Chapel had 492 yards of total offense with 375 yards rushing and 117 yards through the air.

Sheridan’s eight points came late in the game. Defensive tackle Marcquise Jefferson had two tackles for loss.

“Our defense played its best game of the year,” Watson Chapel coach Jared Dutton said. “They were all over the field.”

Watson Chapel finishes the season next Thursday with a road game against Maumelle.

Jack Robey 34, El Dorado 14

El Dorado could not stop Romar Reades as he helped lead Jack Robey to a 34-14 win over the Wildcats at Jordan Stadium. Jack Robey (8-0) never trailed in the game.

Reades finished the game with 12 carries for 220 yards and two touchdowns. He had 10 carries for 203 yards by halftime.

Reades had touchdown runs of 76 and 12 yards to give Jack Robey a 12-0 lead.

Ladarius Skelton then found David Beasley for a 38-yard touchdown pass and Reades added the two-point conversion for a 20-7 lead.

With 1:32 left before halftime, Skelton hit John Tate for a 22-yard touchdown pass for a 26-7 halftime lead.

At the 6:09 mark in the third quarter, Skelton took off on fourth and goal and scored from 8-yards out to make it 34-7.

Beasley added two interceptions in the win and Kyron Crutchfield had a fumble recovery.

Jack Robey finishes the season next Thursday at Jordan Stadium against Little Rock Hall.

Dollarway 44, Batesville Southside 6

SOUTHSIDE — Dollarway trailed for the first quarter of the game, but exploded for 22 points in the second quarter and went on to beat Batesville Southside 44-6 on Thursday.

Dollarway (5-2, 5-1 2-4A Conference) trailed 6-0 after the first quarter before Dionte Wilson scored on a 4-yard touchdown and Markel Scott added the two-point conversion for an 8-6 lead.

Sharodrick Williams then scored on a 48-yard interception return for a touchdown, and Kendrick Hunter’s 5-yard touchdown run and Wilson’s two-point conversion made it 22-6 at the half.

Hunter added an 18-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and Scott tacked on the two-point conversion for a 30-6 lead.

In the fourth quarter, Scott scored on a 65-yard run and Kacy Higgins had a touchdown on a 3-yard quarterback sneak. Xavier Higgins added a two-point conversion to make it 44-6.

Scott finished with 142 yards rushing and one touchdown. Wilson had 60 yards rushing and Hunter added 40 yards and two touchdowns.

8th grade

Jack Robey 44, El Dorado 20

Jack Robey scored on the first play of the game and El Dorado could never recover in the Colts’ 44-20 win on Thursday at Jordan Stadium. Jack Robey finished the season with a 5-1 record.

Aric Jones intercepted an El Dorado pass on the first play of the game and returned it 15 yards for a touchdown. Dalvin Smith added the two-point conversion.

Later, Xavier Washington hit Xavier Smith for a 34-yard touchdown pass. Dalvin Smith added touchdown runs of 56 and 70 yards before halftime for a 26-14 lead.

Xavier Smith opened the third quarter with a 92-yard kickoff return.

Jack Robey got its second interception return for a touchdown when defensive tackle Demonte Smith jumped in front of a pass and held on to it. He went 10 yards for the touchdown.

Jack Robey’s final score was set up by Jayleon Harrell’s interception. Smith later scored on a 24-yard touchdown run.

Dalvin Smith finished with 152 yards and three touchdown on 10 carries and Eddie Bell added an interception.
