Cards keep conference mark unblemished

Four Dollarway players scored in double digits the Cardinals defeated Marianna 60-52 at home Tuesday night.

Jeremiah Young led the squad with 22 points and junior Kabion Ento scored 13 points. Senior DeAaron Adway scored 11 and senior Nicholas Dickson contributed with 10.

Dollarway (17-1, 8-0 2-4A Conference) led 27-22 at half.

The Cardinals will play at home against Lonoke in a makeup game on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Ridgway Christian 50, Ashley Christian 28

CROSSETT — Larry Tate registered a double-double in leading the Eagles (15-5, 9-1 AACS South Region) to a decisive victory on the road.

Tate had 16 points and 12 rebounds, Blake Pennington also scored 16 points and Cody Andersen added 10 points for Ridgway, which will host Columbia Christian on Thursday for first place in the region.


Star City 39, Monticello 33

STAR CITY — Tyeshia Harris (17 points) and Jaida Harden (16) accounted for almost all of Star City’s points in a six-point victory over Monticello on Tuesday.

Star City outscored Monticello 14-7 in the second quarter to take a 20-13 halftime lead. The first and third quarters were evenly played with Monticello outscoring Star City only 8-7 in the fourth quarter.

Dumas 46, Lake Village 24

LAKE VILLAGE — Terlecia Railey led three Dumas players in double figures with 14 points in an 8-4A Conference win.

Whitney Henderson added 13 points and Courtney Jackson had 11. Mona Mitchell scored the other eight points for Dumas.


Dollarway 41, Marianna 40 (OT)

Dollarway improved to 19-2 and 6-0 in conference by knocking off Marianna in overtime Tuesday night.

Cameron Girley led with 16 points while Chris Slater chipped in with 10 and Sharodick Williams had eight.

Dollarway was 9 of 13 (59 percent) from the free throw line. The Cardinals will play for the conference title at Newport on Friday beginning at 5 p.m.
