Cards come away with FBT title


FORDYCE — Dollarway won the boys division of the FBT Bank & Mortgage Classic on Saturday night with a 47-32 basketball victory over former 8-4A Conference rival Hamburg.

Davonne Chapman led the way with 18 points and Kabion Ento added 10 for the Cardinals, who won for the third time in as many nights. Dollarway (4-1) outrebounded Hamburg 33-24 and shot 18 of 48 from the field.

The Cardinals led 26-13 at halftime.

Dollarway will play at Lonoke on Tuesday.

White Hall 77, Camden Harmony Grove 54

FORDYCE — The Bulldogs took seventh place in the FBT Classic behind 11 points from Percy Arnold.

White Hall will host Monticello on Tuesday.

GIRLS

Drew Central 62, Forrest City 49

DeWITT — Drew Central defeated Forrest City 62-49 Saturday afternoon to win the championship game of the DeWitt Invitational.

Ciara Gardner led Drew Central with 17 points and Kari Hilton had 16. Aaliyah Block chipped in with 14.

Drew Central improves to 7-2 and will play again Tuesday at home against Lake Village.

Arkadelphia 36, Fordyce 24

FORDYCE — The Lady Bugs came up short in the third-place game of the FBT Classic.

Marquita Morris scored seven points to lead Fordyce.

In the girls championship, Malvern beat Hamburg 49-24.
