Cardinals win 15th straight


MARIANNA — Dollarway moved to 15-1 overall and 6-0 in the 2-4A Conference following a 57-46 victory over Marianna in boys basketball.

Jeremiah Young led the way with 17 points. He was followed by Kabion Ento with 13 and Joshua Liddell with 10.

Dollarway, which has won 15 straight, will host Lonoke on Tuesday.

Ridgway Christian 48, Cornerstone 27 (Fri.)

TILLAR — Blake Pennington finished with 2o points and six rebounds in leading the Eagles (13-5, 8-1 AACS South Region) to a victory over Cornerstone Christian.

Larry Tate added 18 points for Ridgway, which led 22-13 at halftime.

In junior high action, Ridgway beat Cornerstone by forfeit and improved to 11-1 and 4-0 in the region.

GIRLS

Cornerstone 63, Ridgway Chr. 18 (Fri.)

TILLAR — Cornerstone Christian took a 38-8 halftime lead and didn’t let up in a dominating victory over the Lady Eagles (4-11, 2-5 AACS South Region).

Anna Wells of Cornerstone led all scorers with 23 points. For Ridgway, Madison Heflin and Julia Taylor each had six points. Heflin also collected five rebounds.
