Bulldogs cruise in homecoming victory

STAR CITY — Star City rolled to a 42-6 lead on Lake Village Lakeside at halftime in the Bulldogs’ homecoming and went on to win 56-30.

Zack House started the game at quarterback for Star City and was 2-of-6 passing for 22 yards, rushed the ball four times for 57 yards and caught five passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns.

After two series, freshman Ty Brown took over as the team’s quarterback and passed for 278 yards and three touchdowns. He passed for 256 yards by halftime.

Harley Cotton rushed for 25 yards and a touchdown on three carries for Star City (6-2, 3-2 8-4A Conference), which moved into a tie for third place in the division with Monticello.

Rashod Davis had four carries for 102 yards and two touchdowns and had an interception. LaVonte Gardner had seven carries for 89 yards and a touchdown and two interceptions. Zack Towers had 13 tackles.
