SEC men’s basketball schedule released

FAYETTEVILLE — The 2014 Southeastern Conference men’s basketball schedule was released Tuesday.

Arkansas will open the 18-game conference schedule at Texas A&M for the second straight season, meeting the Aggies in College Station on Jan. 8. The game will be televised by Fox Sports Net with tip off set for 8 p.m.

Texas A&M beat Arkansas 69-51 in the SEC opener last season.

The Razorbacks play their first SEC home game against Florida three days later in Bud Walton Arena. The game will be televised by ESPN2 with tip off at noon.

The Florida game is one of seven conference games Arkansas will play on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.

Arkansas will play Kentucky, Missouri, Georgia, LSU and Alabama twice each (home and away) as part of the SEC’s 18-game schedule. The Razorbacks also have home games against Florida, Auburn, South Carolina and Ole Miss. Arkansas plays other road games against Texas A&M, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State.

The Razorbacks have not released the entire 2013-14 schedule, but a few nonconference games are known. Arkansas will play Louisiana-Lafayette on Nov. 15 and also travels to play in the Maui Invitational from Nov. 25-27.

Arkansas open Maui Invitational play against California on Nov. 25. The Razorbacks will play Syracuse or Minnesota on Nov. 26.
