Youth participation draws recognition

In view of the fact that many of our young people are often featured in the media for either committing serious crimes or being the unfortunate victims of such crimes, it was indeed refreshing for me to witness the participation of some of Pine Bluff’s finest at the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, an auxiliary of the largest African American Baptist Convention.

I would like to express thanks to the youth choir of the Saint Marion Baptist Consolidated District Association for its outstanding ministry of singing during the annual session of the Congress of Christian Education on June 21 at Saint Louis, Mo. The renditions presented were well received by the august assembly, as evidenced by weeping, applauding and shouts of adoration. Indeed, our young people represented Pine Bluff well.

Also, I express many thanks to Dr. Robert L. Handley, the chaperones, and the district constituents who sponsored and accompanied that dynamic group of young people.
