UAPB business dean supports WC millage increase

As a proud graduate of Watson Chapel High School, a Pine Bluff, Arkansas resident, and an advocate for education, I feel compelled to encourage our community to support the proposed 2.3-mill increase for the Watson Chapel School District.

If we expect our students to remain competitive in this rapidly changing, global environment, we must equip them with the tools mandatory for their success. I believe this begins by building safe, modern, and technology equipped facilities in which we can create atmospheres that are conducive to learning.

I encourage our community to support education, our teachers, and most importantly, our children. We cannot continue to operate in buildings that are over five decades old. We cannot continue to operate on a millage that was passed in 1974. We cannot allow Watson Chapel School District to be placed in the hands of the state. Let us rally together and be proponents of change…change that will undoubtedly, positively affect our school district and the city of Pine Bluff.

A vote for this millage increase is a vote for an educated, empowered, and successful community.
