Trade schools, lower college costs needed

Editor, The Commercial:

The editorial entitled “Building little with mortar boards,” published Jan. 30, needed to be written! We need trade schools and apprenticeships established again in large numbers, as well as a systematic LOWERING of college costs to students who apply. There are too many assistant “this” and assistant “that” positions on salaries at a time when we are already paying folks to do those jobs, and we shouldn’t have to hire advisers and/or consultants. And there are too many “make work “situations where faculty are seeing others paid to do their jobs for them.
