I read in your paper on November 6, 2012 about the EOC helping to weatherize a house. I also was approved in 2009 and put on a waiting list. I filled out another application in 2012, and was told that I had to fix some things in my house before they could help me. If I had the money to fix these things, I would not have needed any help.
I was approved by the Jefferson County Development Center, but the house was not in my name; it is my mother’s house. I was asked if I could buy out my siblings, but being on a fixed income that was not possible. I am able to keep homeowners insurance on the house and pay the taxes and have done so for 14 years. Is there anyone who can offer me some guidance in this matter?
