From PB to Opera Maya in Mexico

I am a Vocal Music Education Major at Arkansas State University and a 2009 Pine Bluff High School graduate.

During my time in high school, I was involved in the A Cappella Choir, Pine Bluff Singers and other various organizations. I am the daughter of Rev. Gilbert and Sherri Byrd Jr.

I made the decision to move to Jonesboro from Pine Bluff in 2009 to pursue a music degree. I must say that coming to Arkansas State was one of the best decisions that I have made. I have had the pleasure of working with awesome teachers who inspire and motivate me to reach my fullest potential.

In the past four years I have been involved with various choirs and participated in shows with the ASU Opera program. As a music student at ASU, I have gained more experience and received numerous opportunities. Recently I received an invitation to attend Opera Maya in Mexico. This program will take place from June 1st to June 17th in the Riviera Maya of Mexico.

I believe that this program will give me more experience as a performer and prepare me for a successful career in music. I am writing this letter to find sponsors for this program. If you are interested in being a sponsor or offering support of any kind, feel free to contact me prior to May 20th by calling my cell number at (870) 316-0385, or by emailing me at michelle.byrd@smail.astate.edu.

For more information on the Opera Maya program, you may contact me or visit http://www.operamaya.com/vocalartist.html. Any letters or donations can be mailed to 2009 Cedar Heights Drive, APT D1, Jonesboro, AR 72401. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and for your support.
