Pastor agrees Jefferson County needs Jesus

Editor, The Commercial:

I just wanted to share a great experience I had on last week. I was invited to be the guest speaker at the men’s weekly prayer breakfast at First United Methodist Church under the leadership of Pastor David Fleming. I was very humbled by the invite.

Upon my arrival I was greeted with open arms by Bro. Richard Pope and the other brethren in attendance. Let me be the first to say those brethren were praying for the sick, the church, the city, the county and its leadership! As A matter of fact they prayed for the entire country!

Personally I believe they were echoing the sentiments of our mayor, The Honorable Debe Hollingsworth, who happens to be a member of this body of believers, who has stated “Pine Bluff needs Jesus.” I concur wholeheartedly!

After being introduced by Bro. Pope, you better believe I chimed in with a solo accompanied by Bro. Fred Arnold. My message was taken from Psalms 133:1 “Behold how good and how pleasant it is for Brethren to dwell together in unity!”

Thank you First United Methodist Church for agreeing with me. Jefferson County needs Jesus in her leadership!
