Christmas event sparks a reason for the season

Editor, The Commercial:

The Eighth Annual Old Towne Christmas, a project of the Old Town Christmas Committee for Reinventing Downtown Pine Bluff, was held December 8 from 3-5 p.m. at the Pine Bluff Convention Center following the downtown Christmas parade.

Over 500 children and adults came to enjoy the free Christmas festivities that included Christmas games, musical entertainment, a magician, the balloon artist, ornament making, Christmas cookies and punch. The highlight of the afternoon was the visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus who handed out a Christmas gift bag filled with candy, a book and games and colors for each child present.

The Old Towne Christmas made us all aware of the magic of the holiday season. My special thanks to the committee that planned the event, chaired by Ebony Anderson. A big thank you goes to our special partners who helped make Old Towne Christmas happen that includes the Pine Bluff Convention Center, Fairfield Federal Credit Union and the volunteers who worked that afternoon. Funding for this project came from the following: Pine Bluff Area Community Foundation; Synergy Forum, Inc.; Pine Bluff Festival Association and the Pine Bluff Convention and Visitors Bureau. You all are appreciated
