Walter Homer Lunsford, 87, of Pine Bluff,died Saturday, September 8, 2012.
Born September 12, 1924 at Rison, he was a son of the late William Lunsford and Emma Tucker Lunsford.
Mr. Lunsford was a charter member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church and a United States Marine World War II veteran, having served in the Asiatic-Pacific theatre, most notably the battle of Iwa Jima.
He retired in 1979 after 30 years of service from the Pine Bluff Arsenal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings, J.C. Lunsford, Tanker Lunsford, Zelma James, Eva Dell Golding, Willie May Hale, and Genell Taylor;
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Juanita Scifres Lunsford; daughters, Claudia Spainhour (Randy), Lydia Hooker (Chuck), and Barbara Clement (Billy); seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren;
and many other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel with Brother Tony Williams officiating.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
