V. Rose Carter, age 80, of Pine Bluff, died Monday, July 15, 2013.
She was born August 6, 1932 at Caldwell, Texas, a daughter of the late Frank Joe Payonk and V. Helen Odstrcil Payonk. She was a Baptist, and most recently attended First Assembly of God.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Carter worked for Bell Telephone for a short period of time as a switchboard operator. For a number of years, she sold Stanley Products, Avon Cosmetics, and Sarah Coventry Jewelry.
She was chauffeur for many of her friends and neighbors when they were unable to drive. She was an excellent cook, and loved her family and friends dearly.
Predeceasing her are her husband, Aubrey Carter; three children, Johnny R. Carter, Mary A. Carter, and Aubrey E. Carter; a brother, Jacob Payonk; and two sisters, Christina Matcek, and Janie Hicks.
Survivors include her children, Bobby J. Carter and Becky R. Spadoni; grandchildren, Amber Carter, Shannon Jennings, James Carter, Kenneth Carter, and Doug Carter; great-grandchildren, Nathan Jennings, Dylan Jennings, Zander Carter, Ashton Carter, Lain Carter, Luke Rogers, and Christian Rogers; siblings Martha Burks Powers and Frankie Payonk; several close relatives from Brinkley, Ark. and various parts of Tennessee and Texas; along with many other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
