Thomas Stevens Jr.
LOS ANGELES — Mr. Thomas Lorenzo Stevens, Jr., retired president of Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, passed January 31, 2013, at Sunray Health Center in Los Angeles, Calif. He was a member of many boards including The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, The Braille Institute, Albertsons, Inc., Goodwill Industries, later serving as honorary chairman, The Boy Scouts of America, Opportunities Industrialization Centers (OIC) and the Salvation Army.
He was a graduate of the University of Ark., Pine Bluff, with degrees in Business Administration and Accounting, where he pledged Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and later earned an MBA from University of Southern California.
Mr. Stevens was 79 years old and is survived by his wife of 57 years, Opal, his brother William Callion Stevens (Bettye) of San Francisco, and many other friends and family. Services were held February 13, 2013, at Angelus Funeral Home, Los Angeles, Calif. and interment at Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, Calif.
