DUMAS — Mrs. Rosie May Jones, 65, of Dumas, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
Born December 8, 1947 in Pickens, she was a daughter of Pearl (Grimes) Gordon of Mitchellville and the late Fred Gordon, Sr. She was a member of Greater First Baptist Church serving as a missionary and chairman of the hospitality committee. She was the area supervisor for the National Caucus and Center on Black Aged Inc. in Stuttgart.
Other survivors include son, Troy Jackson of Mitchellville; two daughters, Laura Anderson of Dumas, Shanda Jones of Monticello; three brothers, Rev. Willie Gordon, Sr. of Pickens, Fred Gordon, Jr. of Sumter, S.C., Kenneth Gordon of Oak Park, Ill.; seven sisters, Mattie Johnson and Susanna Gordon of Mitchellville, Ruby Tanner of Aurora, Colo., Mariah Fair of Inglewood, Calif., Shelia Tramble of San Pedro, Calif.; two grandchildren, Kennedi Anderson of Dumas and Jordan Shelton of Monticello.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at Bethlehem Worship Center in Dumas with Rev. Willie Gordon, Sr. officiating. burial will be in Curtis Hall Cemetery in Pickens by Brown Funeral Home of Dumas.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
The body will lie in state from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
