Robert “Bob” Henderson, 87, a resident of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, where he had been visiting his family.
Born May 29, 1925, in Paris, Texas, he was a son of J. C. and Odessa Johnson Henderson.
Mr. Henderson was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff. He was a 1948 graduate of Pine Bluff High School. Robert L. Henderson married Betty Farmer on October 1, 1948, in Pine Bluff. Mr. Henderson was a United States Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Henderson was an independent insurance agent for over fifty years and was selling policies as late as last year. He was a faithful member of the 28th St. Church of Christ, where he also served as an elder.
Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Christine Hayhoe; two brothers, C. F. Henderson, and Harvey Henderson; one infant son.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Betty Henderson of Pine Bluff; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Harold Hancock of Lufkin, Texas, and Brenda and Mark Wall of Pine Bluff; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herbert Henderson of Camden, and Charles Henderson of Searcy; many other relatives and friends.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Mr. Clarence Fell officiating. Mr. Henderson’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son.
