Robert Avery

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Joseph Avery 70, of Pine Bluff, passed December 31, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Family Time Church, 501 Ohio Street, Rev. Michael Williams pastor.

He was born November 20, 1942, El Dorado, Ark., son of the late Joe & Amelia Benson Avery.

He moved to Oakland, Calif. Went through the Oakland Public School system.

He worked as a Welder for Bethlehem Steel Company until he relocated to Pine Bluff in 1973. In Pine Bluff he worked as a Saw Mill worker for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma J. Avery; parents; sister, Anita Avery.

Survivors include son, Clayton Avery of Stockton, Calif.; step-daughter, Cynthia Yarbrough of Pine Bluff; two brothers, Albert Avery of Oakland, Calif., Michael Avery of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Linda A. (Anthony) Herbert of Oakland, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Clayton Avery, II, KaLia Avery, Lanae Avery, Elrich Avery, Jeffery Yarbrough, Kendric Yarbrough, Courtney Christopher; four great-grandchildren, J’daisa Yarbrough, Deavion Yarbrough, King Yarbrough, Kenya Christopher; two aunts, Lucille Riggins, Thelma Wilkes, nieces, nephews, cousins.

Visitations may be made 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Cedar Grove section Graceland Cemetery. Services by Perry Funeral Home.
