Sarah Elizabeth Greenwell, 94, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, March 10, 2012.
Born January 3, 1918 at Marietta, Okla., she was a daughter of the late William Henry Norvell and Illia Smith Norvell. She spent her early life in San Antonio, Texas before moving to McAllen, Texas, where she resided for over 40 years. She moved to Pine Bluff in 1981.
Mrs. Greenwell was a partner with her late husband, H. E. “Greenie” Greenwell in the operation of B&G Oil Company in McAllen for over 20 years. She was also listed in“Who’s Who in American Business Women”.
She had been a long-time member of First Baptist Church of McAllen, Upon moving to Pine Bluff, she was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church, and later moved her membership to Trinity Lutheran Church to be with her family.
Along with her husband and parents, Mrs. Greenwell was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Ledbetter and Brigadier General Madlyn Parks; an aunt who raised her, March B. Norvell; a brother William H. Norvell; and a precious great-grandson, Leighton Burrer.
Her survivors include a son, Preston LePage (Kay) of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Janell Burrer (Larry) of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren, Gayle Montague (Eddy), Jim LePage (Sharalyn), Greg LePage, and Loren Burrer; seven great-grandchildren Zackery, Kevin, Kara, and Preston LePage, Faithe Montague, Morgan Burrer Hudson, and Courtnie Burrer; and a great-great-grandchild, Cameron Hudson.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Fuller Hale-South Chapel with Pastor Dean Clausing officiating. Entombment will be in McAllen, Texas. Visitation will precede the service, starting at 2 p.m.
