STAR CITY — Leroy “Buddy” Moore, 72, of Star City died Wednesday at Gardner Nursing Center in Star City.
He was born July 6, 1939 at C.H. Clower’s Plantation in Tarry to the late Rev. R.M. (Roy) and Hazel Bradshaw Moore. He graduated from Grady High School in 1957, where he was 3rd in his class. He played for the basketball team and according to his family he was a really good player.
He worked at VARCO in Conway. He was a fireman for the Pine Bluff Fire Department. He owned the Money Corner Pawn Shop in Pine Bluff. He was an Insurance Agent. Buddy was a good business man. He started several successful businesses. He was a very generous person. He was a member of the Yorktown Free Will Baptist Church.
Also preceding him in death were his sister, Irma Gene Evans and his son, Wayne Moore Carter. He is survived by his twin sister, Dee Cole and husband Charlie of Star City; sisters, Geri Storm of Cascade, Colo., Fontella Storie of Byrdstown, Tenn., Linda Taylor and husband Jerry of White Hall; two daughters, Leigh Moore Rogers and husband John of Dumas, Michelle Carter Armendariz and husband Thomas of White Hall; and two grandchildren, Logan Rogers and Kaylee Armendariz.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Griffin Funeral Service Chapel in Star City. Bro. Carl Miller will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday, 10 a.m. until funeral time.
