RISON — Ms. Beulah Johnson Crain, the daughter of Grant and Ola Johnson was born July 17, 1929 in Rison Ark. The “sunset of her life” was Monday, June 25, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Ark. She received her early education and high school diploma in the Cleveland County School District in 1948. She also attended AM&N college in Pine Bluff, Ark.
She confessed her faith in Christ at a very early age and joined First Baptist Church and later Liberty Hill Baptist Church. On June 8, 1951, she was united in holy matrimony to the late Shannie Crain, Sr. This union was blessed with two children. Her son, Shannie Crain, Jr. preceded her in death. Ms. Beulah was the youngest of six late brothers and three sisters.
Ms. Beulah retired from the Arkansas Highway Department where she worked for seventeen years. Beulah believed in the welfare of others and was always extending a helping hand to those in need.
Survivors include her daughter, Hilda Caldwell (Thomas James) of Jacksonville, Ark.; grandchildren, Thomas Caldwell, Jr, of Jacksonville, Ark., Deloris Caldwell of New Orleans, La., Rosalyn Crain of Houston, Texas, and Leslie Caldwell of North Little Rock, Ark.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., June 29, 2012, at the P.K. Miller Mortuary with the Rev. Melvin Rauls officiating. Burial will be in New Cemetery, in Rison, Ark. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012 at P.K. Miller Mortuary.
