Bernice Roberts Jones, 86, of Pine Bluff, passed away Sunday March 11, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Born April 22, 1925, in Rowell, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Burt and Ruth Burrough Roberts. She was reared and received her early education in the Woodlawn Community, attending Woodlawn High School.
In 1946, after marrying Edgar Roy Jones, they moved to Pine Bluff. They spent 55 years together until his death in 2002. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker, spending her time caring for her family.
She attended First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy Jones, five brothers, Virgil “Buster”, H.R. “Bob”, J.E. “Bill”, Alfonz and Russell Roberts and one sister Ruby Tooke.
She is survived by her son Roy Ronald Jones, and wife Brenda, of Pine Bluff; her daughter Connie Jones Sanchez, of Pine Bluff; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Roberts, of Pine Bluff and one sister, Elvie Ellen Goodwin, of Pine Bluff.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Rev. Mike Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
