WHITE HALL — Alice Mae Short, 85, of White Hall, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Short was born September 11, 1926, in Sheridan, Wyo., to the late Frederick Demmel and Myrtle Wright Demmel Tye. She was reared and received her education in Raton, New Mexico.
She married Samuel James Short on August 2, 1957, in Albuquerque, N.M. She resided in Edgewood, N.M. until moving to White Hall in 2010.
Mrs. Short was employed by AT&T for 25 years, before retiring in 1984. Before going to work for AT&T, she had attended Nursing School.
She was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints.
Her survivors include her husband of 55 years, Samuel James Short; two sons, Fred Scoope of Edgewood, N.M., and Mike Short of Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Wanda Burke of Phoenix, Ariz., Kathy Lowery and son-in-law, Chris of White Hall and Diane Krum of Phoenix, Ariz.; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Wright of Iron City, Tenn.
Mrs. Short was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Richard Scoope, and four brothers.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Rev. J.J. Galloway officiating.
Interment will follow at Redfield Cemetery.
There will be no formal visitation.
The pallbearers will be Justin Paiz, Mike Short, Corey Lowery, Tyler Vineyard, and Miles Adame.
