CORDOVA, Tenn. — Melva Ann Smithwick, 84, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on June 15, 2013. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova, Tenn., a loving and faithful wife for over 58 years, and the most precious and godly mother of her five children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Irene and George Mann White; her husband, Jim C. Smithwick, Sr.; and her two sons, George Mann Smithwick and Jim C. Smithwick, Jr.
She is survived by her three daughters, Ann Reynolds and her husband, Stephen; Rebecca Hendricks and her husband, Bill; and Stephanie Nelson and her husband, Michael.
The Lord has also blessed her with 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, all who lovingly called her “Gram.”
The family will receive friends from 9- 9:30 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013, before the service at 9:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held in Pine Bluff, Ark., at Pine Bluff Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to be sent to Trinity Baptist Church, 8899 Trinity Road, Cordova, Tenn., 38018.
