Mrs. Mary Lee Owens, age 83, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, October 6, 2012.
Mrs. Owens was born November 7, 1928 in DeKalb, Miss., a daughter of the late George Bill Vaughn and Bessie Barnes Vaughn. The widow of Hugh Chester Owens, she had worked for a number of years as a spinning frame operator at Pinecrest Cotton Mill, and for six years at CASA Women’s Shelter. She was a Baptist, and enjoyed quilting, raising flowers, and fishing.
Also predeceasing Mrs. Owens is a sister, Jessie Chalmers.
Survivors include her children, Shirley Clark of White Hall, Lamar Owens of Bentonville, Charles Owens of El Dorado, Doris Johnson of Cabot, Billy Owens of Lonoke, and Patricia Priest of White Hall; siblings Fred Vaughn of Huntsville, Charles Vaughn and Louise Vaughn, both of Harrison; 23 grandchildren; 83 great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 4 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Chapel with Brother Roger Kelly and Brother Johnny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery at Yorktown.
Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, and other times at the home of Shirley Clark.
