Mrs. Mary Gordon Harris passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2013. She celebrated her 100th Birthday on July 27, 2013, at the Harbor Oaks Activity Center in Pine Bluff.
Mrs. Harris was born July 26, 1913 to Reverend Willie Gordon and Mrs. Elnora Gordon Johnson in Wilkins, Ark. In her early years, she married Lee Willie Harris. To this union was born nine children (five preceding her in death).
She was a member of Indiana Street Baptist Church and dedicated her life serving the Lord through the Church Missionary Society, Sunday School and Church Choir. She was a lead songstress for the St. Marion Missionary District of Arkansas and a member of the Blue Ribbon Social Club.
Survivors include: Four daughters, Idell and Johnnie Smith of Pine Bluff, Ark., Geraldine Hughes of Rowlett, Texas and Linda Nolen of Garland, Texas, One Sister, Mae Bell Kirby of Tyler, Texas,13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Indiana Street Missionary Baptist Church, Reverend Brian Castle. Burial will be at the Forrest Lawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
The body will lie in state Saturday at the church from 9:45 a.m. until service time. Visitation will be held Friday, August 16, 2013, from 4:30-7:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.
