Mrs. Margaret Blohm Cearley, 82, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday November 14, 2012.
Born January 18, 1930 at Stuttgart, she was a daughter of the late Willis Carl Blohm and Clara Becker Blohm. A 1948 graduate of Pine Bluff High School, she received an Associate’s Degree from Arkansas State University at Beebe.
Mrs. Cearley was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she had taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She belonged to the Mary Guild Circle, and served on the Lutheran school’s board of education, and the church building committee.
She taught kindergarten at Trinity Lutheran School in the early 1960’s, and during the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, she taught Headstart at St. John A.M.E Church.
After her husband became ill, she operated the Little Brown Jug Liquor Store during the 1970’s and 1980’s.
Mrs. Cearley’s pastimes included crocheting, reading, and spending time with her family. Her children remember waking every morning during their childhood to the sound of her singing. She served as a living example of her faith. Her children also remember her frequently say “The Lord takes care of me” and that “we would trust in The Lord no matter what”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, W.C.”Dub” Cearley; son, Van Cearley; and brother, Charles Blohm.
She is survived by her daughters, Evelyn Kientz (Jim), Kacky McKenzie (Mike), and Cherrie Bradley (Ben); son, Wilbur Cearley (Julie); sister, Juanita Metzler; daughter-in-law, Pam Givens; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Dean Clausing officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.
Visitation will be Friday, 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
At other time, the family will be at 2101 S. Mulberry St.
